SELF CONTAINED UNITS IN TOWNSVILLE CITY

We have 9 self-catering studio apartments with microwave and air-conditioning located in the city heart of Townsville.

The apartments are located on the corner of Denham Street and Walker Street in the city.  The entrance to the building is via Walker Street and there is a covered car park for guests.

There is free WiFi available in the communal area.  There is a central laundry and a BBQ is available on request.

Our apartments are in walking distance to the Townsville CBD and a bus service is centrally located to easily connect you to nearby shopping centres and hospitals.  Located nearby is The Strand Water Park, North Ward Shopping Centre, Flinders Street East , the Palmer Street restaurants, and the Cowboys Leagues Club.

The Denham Street property also has a venue available for hire with a small meeting room and a conference room for larger business events, private events and wedding receptions.

 OFFICE HOURS: 8.00am to 12.00pm and 1.00pm to 5.00pm Daily

ARRIVAL:

Check in time is from 2.00pm daily.  Please ensure you register at Reception on arrival and pay your accommodation account.  EFTPOS facilities are available, and we accept all major credit cards excluding American Express.

Your ROOM KEY will open the door to your unit, and the external door at the top of the stairs above the car park.  The office is open from 8.00am to 12.00pm and then 1.00pm to 5.00pm.  Outside  these hours, you will need to use the code, which is on the back of your room key tag, to gain access to the building through the front door.

DEPARTURE:

Check out time is by 10.00am daily.  If you haven’t already settled your account on arrival, please ensure you pay it the day before you depart.

Temporary Luggage Storage is available at Reception should you require it.  Any items left in your room can be posted back to you COD.

HOUSEKEEPING:

Fresh linen and towels are provided.  Extra pillows and blankets are available.   For guests staying 7 days or longer, we will organise a room service at a time convenient to you.  Please organise with Reception.

Guests staying a week or longer may request clean towels on or after day 4.

Basic starter items are provided as complimentary, dishwashing liquid, scourer, dishcloth, toilet paper, guest soap, tea, coffee, sugar, UHT milk.  If you require replacements, we are happy to provide them for a small charge.  Please enquire at Reception.

Laundry
The laundry is located at the end of the hall.  The washing machine takes 2 x $1 coins for 30 mins, the dryer takes 2 x $1 coins per 30 mins drying session.  Washing powder is available from Reception for $1.

Hairdryer
A hairdryer is provided.

PETS:

Strictly NO PETS allowed, with the exception of special aid dogs.

WIFI:

WiFi is available.  Please enquire at Reception for the password.

BUSINESS CENTRE:

We are happy to provide you with office services as required.  Charges apply:

Fax receiving.

Email receiving – we are happy to receive emails for you if you have no computer access.

Mail – we are happy to receive mail for you prior to or during your stay.

Postage – we are happy to post your mail for you if required.  Stamps are available for purchase from Reception.

CAR PARKING:

Please note there are seven under cover parking spaces.   For parking any additional vehicles, please enquire at Reception as to an alternative location to park additional vehicles or trailers.

SHOPPING:

Accommodation on Denham is only 3 blocks from Flinders Mall where you will find many speciality shops, cafes, restaurants etc.   A Woolworths Supermarket is located in City Arcade, Flinders Street and is accessible from Sturt Street.   As well there is the North Ward Shopping Complex over the hill, where you will find a Coles, Chemist, Butcher, Bottle Shop, Newsagent, Brumbys,  etc.   Cotters Market is open every Sunday morning in the Mall, and the Strand Markets are on at Strand Park, usually the first Friday evening of every month starting around 5pm.

TOURIST ATTRACTIONS:

The award winning Strand is right on your doorstep, where you will find many tourists and locals enjoying the facilities, children’s playgrounds, water park, fishing pier, restaurants, coffee shops, a playground for all age groups.  Magnetic Island is a 20 minute ferry ride away.  A drive up Castle Hill will give you an overview of the city.

DONATIONS:

We have a donation money box at Reception for any donations to the QCWA Northern Division Disaster Fund.  When we raise much needed funds, vouchers will be delivered to those people living in the Northern Region who are experiencing hard times, including the prolonged drought, and/or flood or fire victims.  Any donation, however small or large, will be greatly appreciated.

We do take bookings up to 12 months in advance.  A deposit of the first night’s accommodation is required to secure your booking.  In the event of a cancellation, we require seven (7) days notice in writing, and a refund will be processed, less an administration fee of $10.  Cancellations within seven (7) days of arrival may be considered for a refund by sending your request in writing to the QCWA Northern Division Units Committee, 116 The Strand, Townsville or via email to denhamstreet@qcwanduc.org.au.
